When a high-school student chooses a university
the entire family pursues a long, thorough search to make sure their investment
is well-spent. The same is true for buying a house or a car, but for some
reason most people do not properly research their choice for a Martial-Arts
school.
We offer quality, traditional-style martial arts education
in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, weapons and self-defense; our instructors and
our programs are selected and designed to suit the needs of students of
any age. I personally train with the highest-ranking black
belts from different parts of New England to make sure students at Alpha
receive the best possible techniques – and I use my own skills as
an educator to ensure that our students actually learn how to defend themselves
as well as developing the indomitable spirit that defines the true martial
artist.
Beware low-quality karate & taekwondo schools:
you may have heard of them, but that’s because they are nation-wide
chains that are only good at making money for corporate headquarters.
If you hear the words “guaranteed black belt” you should leave
immediately -- as a student, an experienced teacher, and as a parent,
I can assure you that you or your child will be furious when you find
out the hard way that your time and money have been wasted, you have been
sold a meaningless pile of belts and your instructor has been lying to
you about your skills.
Promotion at Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy is based on merit and understanding
of our curriculum, not just that a new month brings a new belt. Our workouts
challenge you to raise your level of fitness and flexibility. Sparring
and self-defense at Alpha are safe but true measures of your ability to

Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy's Kobudo weapons
course is affiliated with Shidokan International. In December 2006
Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy became the first Tae Kwon Do school ever
to be awarded membership into this prestigious organiztion. Students
can attain Black Belt status certified by the Japanese Ministry of
Education |
